This is a celebrated annual forum for children to showcase their artistic talents and prowess. Since inception in 2008 it has grown in impact and size. For the very first time in 2010, winning entries at the competition were on display at the London International Gallery of Children’s Art London, England where much commendation was gathered. In 2014 the children’s artworks were also exhibited at the Islington Museum in London.
The maiden competition had entries from 360 children from 40 schools. The exhibition had children from ages 1-4 in in one category, ages 5-8 in the second category and ages 9-12 in the third category with varying themes. The competition has successfully held every year since 2008. Judges for the competition were drawn from the National Gallery of Art. The competition has been supported annually in past years in different ways by the National Gallery of Art , Terra Kulture, Ruff n Tumble, the London International Gallery of Children’s Art and MTN and Coldstone.
It is our desire to make the event a national one {beyond Lagos State} involving both private and public schools and take the exhibition on a tour of the country. We plan on kick starting the tour 2020 with exhibitions in Ibadan, Calabar and Abuja. To achieve this and enlarge the scope of the event, the foundation intends to partner with more institutions, private companies and individuals.
This is our 1oth year of the event and this year we are starting the 1st SEN (Special Educational Needs) Art exhibition.
